![]() ![]() ![]() I first notice it when my 2019 16" MacBook Pro fans unexpectedly ramp up from ~1,800 to >3,500 rpm, system power consumption jumps from ~25w to 50-60w (iStat Menus data) and Activity Monitor shows "Safari Networking" at 100%+ CPU (single core?) usage. I haven't been able to reliably replicate the loop/hang but it seems to be related to opening or closing at least some Safari web tabs or pages. I can access the machine via remote desktop: all devices save the power cord have been disconnected and the problem persists.Īnd finally, the Safari crash log: (figuring out the addition text feature: a standard log appears to be too long even for that.) - dang, I can't seem to manage, even if I split it up.Ĭom. (Safari Networking) process caught in an error loop/hang I have recently encountered intermittent cases of the Safari Networking () process suddenly consuming unusually high power and CPU percentages on a continuing basis until I force quit the process in Activity Monitor. 'The operation couldn't be completed (PKDownloadError error 8). I also tried reinstalling MacOS but after about fifteen minutes the recovery would report: ![]() I had a free version of Malwarebytes running. Most apps work and I'm now using Chrome to access the web. Issue 3: no network sources are seen, but connections that are already established remain accessible Issue 2: any right button click on a desktop item causes a Finder reset (finder windows close, icons disappear for a second) I seem to be the only person so far with these problems, starting immediately after the Catalina update 10.15.6. ![]()
